My name is Rick Frost. I'm a licensed Michigan life & health insurance agent, and the owner of Blue Horizon Life & Health Advisors LLC. I'm also a proud, life-long Michigander and Detroit sports fan! GO TIGERS!!
Well, after a 32-year career in the auto industry, I was looking for a new challenge and actually happened upon the insurance industry because of my own insurance agent whom I had known and respected for many years. He really impressed me with his knowledge, honesty and helpfulness with insurance matters and I felt this was something I wanted to emulate. He encouraged me to secure my license and hired me as a property & casualty insurance agent. These years established a strong foundation in the insurance industry for me and also opened my eyes to other opportunities.
That was 2020. Now, my wife Agnes and I are "empty nesters" with three grown kids. With our own Medicare choices looming, I began to research what this was all about. I thought, "I'm an insurance agent, this will be easy". WRONG! I quickly learned how complex and daunting the Medicare world truly is in Michigan. The array of insurance choices both locally and nationally can be overwhelming and the rules & regulations around Medicare enrollment and eligibility confusing. Out of this experience, I saw an opportunity to use the skills I'd learned to help others unravel their Medicare choices and develop a health plan strategy that works for them!

At Blue Horizon Life and Health Advisors, we consider the education of our clients with respect to their life and health insurance needs our primary objective. Given the complexity and constantly changing landscape of rules and regulations and multitude of insurance plan choices, having a trusted partner who is up-to-date on these topics and also takes the time to understand your unique requirements, is key to finding the right health insurance plan.
We also understand that many of our clients may need life insurance coverage as well. First time Medicare recipients frequently are exiting the employed ranks where they relied on employer group life insurance policies. In many cases, these benefits end with retirement. We are happy to discuss these needs and recommend solutions at your request.
